Mark your calendars! On Sunday, February 12, St. John’s and St. Michael and All Angels are holding a joint service to observe the Feast of Absalom Jones, a celebration of the first African American ordained priest in the Episcopal Church.
Fr. Hugh Chapman will preach at this 10 AM service, held at St. John’s, and Fr. Lonnie will serve as the morning’s celebrant. Join us as we gather together in the Body of Christ. Following the service, a casual reception will be hosted by the Union of Black Episcopalians (UBE) in Alfriend Hall. We will also take up a loose offering for UBE during the service itself.
This traditional Rite II Service of Holy Eucharist meets in the main sanctuary in person. It will also be live streamed.
