Join us for our summer SALT Luncheon with special guest speaker, Skip Foster. 30-year newspaper veteran and current PR firm president Skip Foster will cover interesting ground, from the future of news to AI to marketing to, of all things, fusion. Come and have all your questions about everything that’s fit to print answered!

The presentation will be followed by a Q & A., and lunch. While SALT stands for “Senior Adults Living Triumphantly,” ALL ages are welcome to join us.

Or contact Deborah Dugger in the church office for assistance. Please RSVP by June 5. A $9/person donation is appreciated to cover luncheon costs. Coffee will be served in Alfriend Hall beginning at 10:30 AM. Our program begins at 11 AM in Killeen Hall, and lunch follows the presentation.

SKIP FOSTER BIO:

Skip Foster is President of Hammerhead Communications, a boutique PR/marketing/crisis communications firm, which he started in 2022 after a 30-year career in journalism.

Skip’s newspaper career ended as president and publisher of the capital city’s newspaper of record, the Tallahassee Democrat.

His career began as an entry-level sports reporter in Hickory, N.C. He moved quickly into a management position becoming an editor and eventually a publisher, first in Shelby, N.C. He moved to Ft. Walton Beach where he was named publisher of the Northwest Florida Daily News as well as four weeklies. From there, he was promoted to become the tenth publisher in the history of the Tallahassee Democrat in 2015; a position in which he served for five years.

During his tenure at the Democrat he became immersed in not only local news, but statewide and even national issues that originated in the state’s capital.  Under Foster’s direction the Democrat broke and covered some of the most important political news in Florida, including corruption scandals that reshaped the political landscape of North Florida.
